| Our sincere condolences go out to the Putnam Lake Fire Department on the death of its Member, Gerald W. Doyle, who passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Gerald Doyle proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, both active and reserve; and was also a Life Member of the Mahopac Volunteer FD.
Gerald "Gerry" Doyle was a Life Member of the Putnam County VFA, having joined our Association in 1974, who was recognized for his 50 years of service in 2024 at our annual Convention. He was also a member of the Royal Order of the Blue Vests, Putnam County Fire Police Response Team, Putnam-Northern Westchester Fire Police Association, to name a few.
A Memorial service was held on Saturday, July 25, at the Putnam Lake Fire Department in the presence of his family and many friends. He was recognized for his military service by Officers of the US Navy who ceremoniously presented the American flag to his wife, Laura, formerly of the Brewster FD Auxiliary. A brief firematic service followed, which was led by Chief Vincent Fanelli. |
